The Cyrenians’ Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) is holding their free national conference, “The Faces of Transition”, on Wednesday 29th January at the Radisson Blu Hotel, 80 High Street, The Royal Mile, Edinburgh, EH1 1TH.
Inspired by the Roman god Janus, “The Faces of Transition” will focus on themes of beginnings, transitions, time, duality and how the past can impact the future, but does not define it.
The conference will also highlight the SCCR’s legacy and look at their future aims regarding ambition, purpose and strategic work in relation to earlier intervention and prevention for young people and families across Scotland.
To coincide with this event and to celebrate their work under Scottish Government’s Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention Fund, the SCCR will publish a new report detailing the impact of their work over the last 4 years, plus the findings from new SCCR 2019 National Surveys.
Confirmed conference speakers include:
- Maree Todd MSP, Minister for Children and Young People
- Gordon Jackson QC, Faculty of Advocates
- Jo Bibby, The Health Foundation
- Callum Hutchison, Violence Reduction Unit
- Natalie Young, Peaceful Alchemy
- Dr Vanessa Collingridge, writer and broadcaster
