Registrations for the Creating Hope Together Conference 2025: How We Address The Inequalities Of Suicide are now open!
This event takes place from 9am – 5pm, Thursday 15 May 2025, in person at Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow (301 Argyle Street, Glasgow, G2 8DL).
People working or volunteering in the public, private and third sectors who have a focus on suicide prevention and/or the inequalities which contribute to suicide are invited to attend. Suicide Prevention Scotland also welcome people with lived and living experience of suicide who would like to know more about suicide prevention work across Scotland.
Creating Hope Together aims to work across sectors to reduce suicide whilst tackling the inequalities which contribute to higher risk of suicide. Over the last two years of delivery, they have explored what this means and how best to do this.
This year’s conference will focus on key areas of inequality connected to suicide risk which were identified through this work, including:
- Poverty
- Alcohol and substance use
- Children and young people
- Stigma and discrimination
- Transitions and life changes
- Isolation and loneliness
The day will feature a range of presentations alongside the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops on how these themes show up in people’s lives. The conference will also provide an opportunity to meet and network with others working across Scotland in all aspects of suicide prevention and related fields supporting the ambition to build a network of organisations working across sectors.
Booking a place: There are 150 places that will be open to everyone and allocated on a first come basis. Organisations should register for no more than two places and make decisions about who is best placed to attend to support sharing the learning wider to staff teams etc. The initial registration period will close on Sunday 16 March at 23:59. If these places have sold out before you register, please join the waiting list.
