The Community Learning and Development (CLD) Standards Council has published “Growing the Learning Culture 2025”, the latest edition of its national statement and framework for action, to support CLD practitioners’ professional learning and development.
The new edition reaffirms the CLD Standards Council’s vision and principles, and sets out its refreshed 5 Ambitions:
- Professional learning and development is integral to CLD practice in all sectors and settings and is used creatively to enhance the quality and impact of practice.
- Practitioners, managers and employers in CLD commit themselves to professional development.
- The Standards Council shares its professional learning to develop the CLD field of practice as a whole.
- The professional learning and development of all CLD practitioners, paid or unpaid, part-time or full-time, with or without qualifications, is valued and supported.
- Fair, affordable and equitable access to professional CLD qualifications and learning infrastructure enables everyone to access learning pathways.
It also includes an updated framework for action to support the continued growth of the learning culture, with actions for the Standards Council and other key stakeholders, and recommendations on how to assess progress.
“Growing the Learning Culture 2025” is designed to be a hands-on, practical guide and resource for practitioners to explore and interact with, via the Routemap, which guides practitioners through the various stages, from Vision to Evaluation.
The CLD Standards Council is committed to making “Growing the Learning Culture 2025” an interactive version of its framework, and is keen to hear from people about their views and ideas on how to drive this forward. As a result, the Standards Council will be hosting a series of engagement events, online and in person, taking place January 2026 – March 2026. Dates will be confirmed shortly.
