Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs (SFAD) is a national charity which supports family members affected by someone else’s alcohol or drug use in Scotland, whether they are still actively using substances/alcohol, are in recovery, or bereaved.
We were established in 2003 by family members who came together to support each other and to campaign for recognition. Today, we are recognised as Scotland’s leading charity for families affected by alcohol and drugs.
Our National Family Support Services include our Helpline, Bereavement Support Service, Ripple Family Support Service and our Click and Deliver Naloxone programme. We have Local Support Services in East Dunbartonshire, Forth Valley, Fife and Inverclyde, providing one-to-one and group support and pathways into our national services. We offer young person’s support with Routes in East and West Dunbartonshire, and manage the Grow Your Own Routes programme with six partners in Scotland.
We also deliver workforce development, policy, communications and campaigning work, and wider community development including our Connecting Families programme.
