Friends of Dollar Park

Service category: Animals and Environment, Community Facilities

The objectives of the organisation:

To act as a forum for people with an interest in Dollar Park;
To develop a sense of ownership of the park with all sections of the local community;
To improve the environment in the park;
To encourage action/initiatives for the park;
To encourage and pursue the development and sustainability of all the facilities within the park;
To work with any other body, including the local authority, in advancing these objectives.

In 2009 The Friends of Dollar Park was established with the aim to work with Falkirk Council, funding agencies and other organisations in improving the infrastructure of the park.

In late 2017 at a meeting with the Friends and Cyrenians (who were overseeing the maintenance and planting of the walled garden in Dollar Park), the idea of bringing back the floral clock to the park was discussed. In 2018 the clock returned to its original location.
