Supporting Someone Experiencing Bereavement and Loss – Information Session
June 27, 2024 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
One commonality shared between all of us is that we will each experience the impact of bereavement and loss – whether profoundly or not – at some point in our lives. Yet, discussions around bereavement and loss are still a taboo subject for many and this can result in members of our communities, including ourselves, not knowing where to turn for support when grieving.
To explore this topic in more depth, CVS Falkirk & District are hosting an online Lunch and Learn information session via MS Teams from 12pm–1pm on Thursday 27 June 2024 for local service providers to hear an overview from the Macmillan Cancer and Palliative Care Facilitator within NHS Forth Valley about:
-
- What is bereavement and grief?
- Why support bereavement in our role?
- Predicting the grief journey – can we?
- Bereavement – the silent epidemic
- How to support a bereaved person
At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity to reflect and ask any questions. This is an informal information session that is open to local service providers in Falkirk who are seeking to find out more about topics and themes relevant to their remit, role, and interests. We do not mind if you join this session with your camera off or if you plan to enjoy your lunch while hearing about the topic area.
