Responses Deadline: Consultation on Long Term Conditions Framework

July 20

Free

Scottish Government has launched the second part of a public consultation on the development of a new Long Term Conditions Framework.

In this stage, they are inviting feedback from both stakeholders and members of the public to help shape an approach that truly reflects the needs of people living with long term conditions, as well as the organisations that support them.

Currently, Scotland lacks a cohesive national policy for improving care and support across long term conditions, even though many individuals experience similar challenges and require overlapping types of support. With one in 4 people in Scotland living with multiple conditions, the framework aims to improve care, tackle health inequalities, and ensure equitable access to support. Scottish Government is also keen to evolve its approach to meet the needs of an ageing population and to reduce persistent health inequalities.

To address these challenges, as part of the consultation, Scottish Government is exploring the creation of a framework that delivers fair and sustainable access to core services while also enabling targeted support for specific conditions.

The deadline for responses is Sunday 20 July 2025.

To submit your response, or for further information (including the consultation background), please visit the dedicated consultation page (linked for your convenience) on the Scottish Government hub.
