“NCS: What Does It Mean for Children’s Services?” Event

September 30, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Our colleagues at Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector (GCVS) have announced a special “Our World Reimagined – Social Care” event: “The National Care Service – What Does It Mean for Children’s Services?” on Thursday 30th September, 2pm –4pm.

This is in response to the National Care Service (NCS) consultation extending beyond the Feeley Review of Adult Social Care, to potentially include services for children and families (including young and parent carers). It is therefore critical that third sector groups and organisations who work with these groups feed into the consultation.

Speakers at the event include SallyAnn Kelly (Chief Executive of Aberlour), and Mike Burns (Assistant Chief Officer of Children’s Services at Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)).

There will also be space for attendees to share their ideas and views, discussing questions such as, “What does this consultation mean for the services you provide? What opportunities do you see to ensure that families who come into contact with social care and social work get the right support at the right time? What could this mean for disabled children and unpaid carers?”

To book your place at next week’s free event, or for further information, please visit the Eventbrite page.
