Introduction to Fundraising for Active Travel Course
July 19, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
FreeSustrans Scotland is running an online Introduction to Fundraising for Active Travel course, taking place over 2 half days, on Tuesday 11th July and Wednesday 19th July (both 10am – 1pm).
Facilitated by Pam Judd, the course aims to be a practical introduction to fundraising for community-based active travel projects in Scotland (such as projects related to walking, wheeling, cycling, or any other mode of travel) which in some way encourage people to travel more actively in their daily lives.
Projects can involve directly running activities (such as walking groups), but could also be less directly related (like providing a local map showing accessible routes, bringing a public space which people see as neglected and unsafe back into community use, or installing signage or benches to let people see what is nearby, and have places to stop for a rest along the way).
In between each training day, participants will be asked to complete “homework” – identifying and completing a project application; as a result, participants are asked to have a project in mind in advance. The course is open to anyone working or volunteering for community-based groups or organisations in Scotland, who are planning or delivering projects encouraging active travel.
Places are limited, and booking is essential; those interested are asked to ensure they can definitely attend before booking.
