ETU Parents Group Discussion: Young Parents

Falkirk Council’s Employment and Training Unit (ETU) is offering young parents, disabled parents and parents of disabled children the opportunity to have their voices heard by hosting group discussions via Teams on the following dates:

• disabled parents and parents of disabled children: Friday 3^rd September at 10:30am
• young parents (aged 16 – 24 years old): Wednesday 8^th September at 10:30am

With these discussions, ETU aims to ensure the support they offer meets the needs of young parents, disabled parents, as well as those with disabled children, by listening to what is said and use this information to inform how and what they deliver.

Attendees will come together with other parents via Teams and share opinions, ambitions, and barriers they have experienced. Everyone is welcome to contribute at their own pace, with no expectations.

ETU will then look at everyone’s input from both sessions and work to make any

changes and improvements in the help and support they offer. They cannot promise all suggestions given will be achievable, but they aim to do their best to take ideas presented forward.

They aim to provide feedback to attendees by the end of October, and will keep attendees informed if there are going to be any delays to this.
