Care with Confidence: “Technology Enabled Care (TEC)”

Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre has announced further Care with Confidence sessions for unpaid carers, taking place Tuesdays, 10:30am – 12:30pm. Carers can attend via Zoom or in-person at the Carers Centre, 1A Bank Street, Falkirk, FK1 1NB.

• Tuesday 24^th January: “Strathcarron History, Stories and Events”

Strathcarron Hospice’s volunteer Ken will speak about the local History, Stories and Events sessions he hosts, along with telling some stories, with a focus on Robert Burns.

• Tuesday 31^st January: “Epilepsy Awareness”

Attendees have the opportunity to learn what epilepsy is, causes, triggers, symptoms and the different treatment options, and find out about the different responses to different types of seizures, as well as how to recognise an emergency situation. The session will also cover the effects epilepsy can have on an individual, and how to support those living with the condition.

• Tuesday 7^th February: “Technology Enabled Care (TEC)”

Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) has been looking for tools that would help telecare users retain some independence if their condition deteriorates, including Technology Enabled Care (TEC). They are continuing to explore new ways of utilising technology, and will be attending the session with information on smart home devices and how they may help people in their caring role.
