Youth Scotland has launched “Amplify – Supporting Youth Voice”, a new 3 year youth participation programme for young people who are furthest from their rights, and whose voices are often underrepresented in decision-making.
Building Youth Scotland’s established work in youth voice and leadership, Amplify aims to support young people, youth workers and community partners across Scotland to embed meaningful youth participation in the decisions which affect young people’s lives. It has been designed to connect existing Youth Scotland programmes and networks, create new opportunities for youth-led social action, and provide training and support for community-based youth work organisations.
Youth Scotland has received more than £1.5 million over 3 years from The National Lottery Community Fund, and has committed that the funding will be used to embed the voices of young people in community decision-making. This comes from The UK Fund, one of The National Lottery Community Fund’s first significant commitments as part of its new strategy, “It Starts With Community”, funding projects which support communities to come together.
