The Wolfson Foundation has announced that its Disability and Special Grants Programme is open for applications.
Through the programme, the Wolfson Foundation, makes grants of between £15,000 – £100,000 to special schools and colleges as well as charities that work with people with particular health needs or disabilities. Nearly £10 million has been awarded over the last five years, to over 200 different organisations. Grants are made for:
- New buildings
- Major refurbishment work
- Equipment
- Vehicles.
Previous grants awarded include:
Ravenscliffe High School and Sports College, West Yorkshire which received a grant of £52,000 for a sensory room in new 16-25 learning centre, Redcar and Cleveland Mind which received a grant of £35,000 towards supported housing for people with mental health needs.
Hope House School, Newark which received a grant of 7,000 to purchase music equipment for a sensory room.
There is a two stage application process:
Stage 1 applications should be submitted by the 1st July 2015 to be considered for the autumn funding round.
