It’s Volunteers’ Week: an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution volunteers make each day throughout our communities.
Today’s spotlight is on NHS Forth Valley who held their celebration of volunteering at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, thanking their volunteers for their efforts and dedication throughout the year.
Carolyn, our Development Officer for Volunteering, attended the event as part of our Volunteers’ Week activities, along with our colleagues from SVE, Radio Royal, and the NHS Forth Valley team, including interim Chief Executive Fiona Ramsay, who all participated in #VolunteeringIn3, which can be seen below.

“Volunteers’ Week is a great opportunity to thank volunteers and to show them how much they are appreciated,” Carolyn says.
“We spoke to many people about volunteering and asked them what volunteering means to them in 3 words, as part of our #VolunteeringIn3. We then combined this with the wooden tree Polly from SVE brought along, which looked great!”
There are many organisations that provide health and support services, who rely on volunteers to support their work and activities every day of the year and so it’s important to take the time to celebrate their commitment to volunteering and encourage others to volunteer.

Volunteering is good for your health: it can motivate you, boost your confidence and self-esteem, while providing the opportunity to learn new skills and experiences. There are so many opportunities to get involved in, throughout Falkirk at different times and day – go on, give it a go!
Well done and congratulations to all the volunteers within NHS Forth Valley!
