Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre are looking for befriender volunteers for 2 of their projects: Carers Befriending Project and Young Carers Project.
The Carers Centre provides information and support to those who are caring for a family member, friend or neighbour who needs help because of long term illness, disability or age-related difficulties.
The Carers Centre seeks to ensure that carers of all ages in Falkirk district and Clackmannanshire are recognised, valued, receive the information and support they need to allow them to care with confidence and in good health, and are empowered to have a life of their own outside caring.
The Carers Befriending Project provides support to carers who live in Falkirk and Clackmannanshire. This Project are looking for volunteers to befriend their carers. This opportunity can be flexible to work around you and takes place across the Falkirk District, all travel expenses will be reimbursed.
The Young Carers Project are also looking for befriender volunteers for their Time Out group which has been developed with the sole purpose of giving young carers, aged 8-18, a fun time out with their caring role. Groups take place in Falkirk and Clackmannanshire – volunteers are able to choose which group they would like to attend, all travel expenses will be paid. Groupd run Tuesdays and Thursdays between 5pm-6.30pm and 6.30pm-8.30pm.
For both of the befriending opportunities volunteers need to be aged 18 and over.
