Strathcarron Hospice Befriending Project are looking for befriender volunteers to offer support in a “good neighbour” way to individuals and families who are socially isolated and are coping with illness or frailty in the last year or so of their lives.
Volunteers also have opportunities to participate in training new volunteers. It is hoped volunteers will become “hospice ambassadors” within their own communities . This is a really rewarding opportunity. There are many different requests for support, and there is something to suit almost everyone.
This opportunity takes places across the Falkirk area and can be completely flexible around your current life schedule. Training and support are provided by a dedicated project lead at Strathcarron Hospice.
The first session of training is planned to start in the new year. Please be aware that following training it can take some time for the right “match” to come up.
For further information regarding this opportunity then please contact the Volunteer Team on 01324 692000 or email info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk
