Al Masaar is a voluntary organisation with the mission to support and empower families from vulnerable or isolated backgrounds and/or with additional support needs. They are currently recruiting a Chief Executive Officer to help lead the organisation, work with the Board, and ensure the organisation continues to serve the most vulnerable individuals and communities in the Forth Valley. The ideal candidate will have experience in race-related discrimination and have the ability to navigate cultural barriers and communicate sensitively.
As the successful applicant will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the organisation, whilst acting as the public face of Al Masaar – the ideal applicant will:
- Have strong leadership qualities, and ability to clearly communicate Al Masaar’s vision and goals.
- Have a good understanding of equality issues in the Scottish and UK landscape.
- Be an effective networker who can grasp opportunities and develop new initiatives to respond to changes in the external environment.
- Have experience working within and across communities.
- Have the ability to demonstrate an active commitment towards equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
There is no requirement to have previous Chief Executive Officer experience, but applicants must have a desire to upskill themselves, not be afraid of hard work and apply their learning in a fast-paced environment. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to gain management experience, passionate about communities and ready to problem-solve.
This is a 12-month rolling contract offering 15 hours per week, with a salary of £19,255 p/a, based in the Forth Valley. To apply, please send an up-to-date CV to farah@almasaar.org.
