Addiction, Support and Counselling provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation & support services for people affected by substance misuse to help them on the road to recovery.
They are seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Development Worker to join them in providing high quality and effective counselling to work 35 hours per week, fixed term 12 month contract.
Salary £23,697 to £26,235.
Targeting areas of high deprivation and focusing on people who have poor access to services, you will promote, develop and sustain recovery networks and projects within treatment services and the wider community. You will be passionate about recovery and have a good track record in promoting peer support and recovery initiatives. A self-starter, you will be pivotal in developing good links between treatment services and aftercare provision. You will be comfortable in working with a range of stakeholders to develop and champion a robust Recovery Orientated System of Care (ROSC) that has peer development at its heart.
- Have a good understanding of the principles of community development
- recognised professional qualification to a minimum of SVQ level 4 and
- A good understanding of and familiarity with what works to initiate, promote and sustain recovery, and
- Ability to work flexibly and creatively in advising, motivating and supporting people with substance misuse problems
