Universal credit is replacing the support families receive to pay their child care costs through tax credits. Child Poverty Action Group in Scotland (CPAG), One Parent Families Scotland (OPFS) and the Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) are hosting a seminar to discuss what this will mean for childcare services and the families who use them.
The seminar will take place on Monday 27th March, 10am – 1pm at CPAG’s training suite, Ladywell Business Centre, 94 Duke Street, Glasgow, G4 0UW. Lunch will be provided afterwards.
The seminar will include:
- an introduction to universal credit and what it means for families (CPAG in Scotland)
- an overview of how universal credit will impact on childcare services (OPFS and SCMA)
- a discussion on what community and home-based childcare services can do to prepare for the roll out of universal credit and to support the families affected
This seminar is for those who commission childcare services, or who manage or work in a childcare service (eg. a nursery or afterschool club).
