Funded by the Falkirk Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, and Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), Under the Trees is running a series of low-pressure cycle rides for adults aged 18 years old and over, with a social campfire lunch, prepared by the group in a peaceful woodland setting.
Take a Brake cycle rides are short cycling journeys with no time, using low-traffic roads and traffic-free paths where available.
Sessions are in blocks of 4; currently, these are planned for Sundays, with the first block beginning on Sunday 18th September, 11am at Tesco Redding, Colliery Road, Falkirk, FK2 9RA. Additional weekday sessions may be offered where there is demand. The first session of each block is an introductory session, where participants will meet the Under the Trees team, who will carry out a safety check on your bike.
Bikes (including 2 e-bikes) are available to borrow from Under the Trees for anyone who without a bike, those without a way to transport their bike, or anyone whose bike is in need of repair. For repairs, Under the Trees can also refer people to a local bike mechanic, who can assist with access to the Scottish Government Cycle Repair Scheme.
Booking for Take a Brake is essential.
