The Big Help Out was launched across the UK this week.
The Big Help Out was announced in January 2023 as a National Day of Volunteering, taking place on Monday 8th May, the Bank Holiday Monday of the King’s Coronation weekend.
The Big Help Out is a voluntary initiative supported by some of the UK’s biggest volunteer organisations, including the Scouts and the Royal Voluntary Service, and is open to everyone. The objective of The Big Help Out is to raise awareness of volunteering throughout the UK, and provide opportunities for people to experience volunteering and make a difference in their communities. It is not a profit making or fundraising initiative.
Volunteer Scotland has gathered information on many different ways for volunteers and volunteer-involving groups and organisations (VIOs) to get involved and support The Big Help Out, and created a partner toolkit, which can be accessed via their website.
Our team at CVS Falkirk & District will be publishing information on how to get involved locally, across the wider Falkirk area, in due course, via our e-bulletin, website and social media channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram (including the Volunteer Falkirk Instagram), and Linkedin.
