Falkirk Council has advised that applications to the Tenant Grant Fund will close on Monday 28th February, to allow them to assess applications before the deadline on using the funding from Scottish Government.
Groups and organisations supporting people struggling with rent arrears due to COVID-19 can still refer them to the Tenant Grant Fund for help until this point.
The fund aims to prevent homelessness and sustain tenancies, by providing one-off payments towards rent arrears caused directly by the pandemic. It is open to tenants of Falkirk Council, Housing Associations and private landlords.
Either the tenant or landlord can ask to be considered for a payment; Falkirk Council can also take applications on the tenant’s behalf from a supporting organisation. They will then ask both tenant and landlord for further information before a decision is made. Any grant payment made does not need to be repaid.
