Strathcarron Hospice is currently looking for volunteers to join its Council of Management.
Volunteer council members are trustees and unpaid directors donating their free time to support a cause they believe in. Council members have no direct management responsibilities, but set the overall strategic direction of the Hospice, ensuring the staff team works within their objectives, as laid out in Strathcarron Hospice’s governing documents.
They are particularly looking for qualified accountants, and people with good knowledge of the business sector.
The Council meets in the evening 4 times per year, providing advice and scrutiny through their participation; members generally also join a subcommittee reflecting their interest and expertise:
- Audit
- Clinical Governance
- Fundraising
- Retail
- Building and Investment
Council Members are selected through an interview process and then election at the Hospice’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The deadline for expressions of interest is Thursday 31st October.
To submit an expression of interest, or for an informal chat about the role, please contact Strathcarron Hospice’s Chief Executive Irene McKie by phone: 01324 826222, or email: irene.mckie1@nhs.net
