Strathcarron Hospice Community Development Team have secured funding from Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) for a new project, which aims to provide support from within communities to people living with deteriorating health conditions.
People with long term conditions, and their carers, face a number of challenges as their health declines. The project aims to support people in a variety of ways to enable them to continue to live as well as they can and to make plans for the future, if they so desire.
Strathcarron Hospice are currently recruiting befriending volunteers for the project, and are holding an information event for anyone who is interested in becoming a befriending volunteer, on Wednesday 18th October, 2pm – 3:30pm at Denny Library, Davies Row, Denny, FK6 6FA.
This event is open to anyone who lives in the Denny, Dunipace, Banknock, Bonnybridge, Larbert, and Stenhousemuir areas, who wants to get involved.
Volunteers will be trained and supported to provide practical and emotional help to people in their own communities. The help provided will take a variety of forms depending on the wishes of the person being supported.
If you cannot attend this event, or if you are interested in befriending and live outwith these areas, please contact Susan High by phone: 01324 826222, or email: email@example.com
