Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise (SVE) are working in partnership with Volunteer Scotland and Stirling Council on a bid to have Stirling become European Volunteering Capital 2020.
The European Volunteer Centre (CEV) launched the European Volunteering Capital competition in 2013, to help promote and develop volunteering.
SVE, Volunteer Scotland and Stirling Council are looking for organisations to support their bid before applications close.
Stirling’s bid will highlight the social inclusion, quality volunteering, recognition systems and local volunteering infrastructure and in Stirling and the surrounding areas, and will show a commitment to creating a legacy that will ensure Stirling is at the heart of volunteering in Scotland for many years to come.
The deadline for all bids is Friday 29th June.
The winner will be announced in December 2018, prior to International Volunteer Day, at a ceremony in the current European Volunteering capital, Aarhus in Denmark.
