Dial a Journey and the Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) are working in partnership to pilot a free membership transport service, supporting people to attend local community groups and activities in the Falkirk District.

The “Stay Connected” service aims to remove transport barriers which prevent people from getting involved in their local community. Organisations throughout the Falkirk District can refer existing and potential new service users to the service, if the individual has an identified transport need and would be unable to attend groups and activities without this service.

Stay Connected is not available to individuals who would prefer to use this service over other existing suitable transport options.

Eligibility Criteria:

only available for travel in Falkirk District area
existing service users unable to continue attending groups and activities due to a transport barrier
potential new service users unable to attend groups and activities due to a transport barrier
people who may have mobility requirements and unable to use public transport or car
people who may have financial barriers and unable to afford public transport or car
current transport arrangements do not provide a break for their carer, and this service would support the service user to attend groups and activities as well as benefit the carer

Stay Connected is a temporary transport service, due to limited non-recurring funding; organisations will be notified when the service is no longer available. However, Dial a Journey will also be monitoring the uptake of the service, and will gather feedback and data around barriers to services caused by lack of transport. They will then share their learnings with organisations to use as evidence in future funding proposals for transport, when the Stay Connected service is no longer available.
