Link Academy, working in partnership with Falkirk Foundation, has announced that its free Sporting Chance Programme will be running in Falkirk again this coming September 2026, and in January 2027.

Sporting Chance aims to bring together young people aged 16 – 25 years old from different backgrounds and communities, through community sports-based activities. The programme is designed to help young people build positive connections and a stronger sense of belonging, and will involve physical activity and personal development sessions to strengthen their wellbeing, build resilience, and increase their confidence.

The September course will begin on Wednesday 2 September, and run for 13 weeks on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10am – 3pm each day. Sporting Chance is based at the Link Academy premises in McKinven House, George Street, Falkirk, FK2 7EY. This course is free to attend, and lunches and refreshments are provided throughout. However, Link Academy is unable to provide transport.

To refer a young person, please complete the online referral form (linked for your convenience).

Any referrals received will be added to Link Academy’s waiting lists, and the Link team will reach out to arrange initial meetings over the coming weeks. These initial meetings are designed as a chance for young people to meet with the Development Worker to discuss the course in more detail. The Development Worker will also assess suitability to ensure that we find a course that best fits the young person’s needs.
