The Hippodrome Cinema in Bo’ness have partnered with Barnardos Scotland to host a special screening of the film “Sorry We Missed You”, directed by Ken Loach, to mark Challenge Poverty Week 2021.
The film will be shown on Saturday 9th October, 2:30pm at the Hippodrome Cinema, 10 Hope Street, Bo’ness, EH51 0AA, and will be followed by a live Q&A session with representatives from Barnardos Scotland.
During the Q&A there will be the opportunity to hear more about Barnardos Scotland’s involvement in the preparatory work before the film’s production, as well as to discuss the issues raised in the film.
Challenge Poverty Week runs Monday 4th October – Sunday 10th October this year, designed to highlight that poverty is a problem that can be solved, showcasing solutions and providing an opportunity for everyone to raise their voice against poverty. It also provides local groups and organisations the chance to highlight the work they do to tackle poverty every day of the year, and how it underpins if not everything, then a vast majority of their activities.
