Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all social work student placements were suspended in March 2020.
Now, the Social Work Education Partnership is working with partner agencies, local authorities and placement providers to ensure that all final placement students across Scotland are able to access high quality placement opportunities.
Along with Iona Colvin (the Chief Social Work Adviser to Scottish Government), the Partnership is reaching out to third sector organisations across Scotland to create new and innovative placement opportunities for future social workers.
They hope that everyone is able to work together to ensure that practice learning opportunities can be established for every student.
Iona Colvin has written a public letter to all third sector groups and organisations, which is available to view or download as a pdf from the CVS Falkirk website, and includes comprehensive information on the placements, including durations, support grants and the amounts paid to placement providers.
