Eat Well Age Well’s Small Ideas, Big Impact fund has re-opened for applications to tackle malnutrition in older people.
With 1 in 10 older people in the UK either at risk of, or living with, malnutrition, Eat Well Age Well believes that the need to increase detection rates, and tackle the condition, have never been greater.
Their focus is on older people living at home who are at risk of, or have, malnutrition, due to being underweight. This kind of malnutrition can lead to a higher risk of falling, developing a weaker weaker immune system, and people being more likely to visit their GP or be admitted to hospital.
Small Ideas, Big Impact fund encourages community groups, social enterprises, charities and public sector workers to apply for £50 – £5000 to test ideas that will prevent, detect and treat malnutrition.
Projects must be completed and evaluated by Friday 30th October 2020 and within one year of their start date.
The deadline for applications is Friday 2nd August.
