Scottish Waterways Trust have organised a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds towards developing a new “waterways hub” in Falkirk. In total, they are looking to raise £10,000.
The hub will replace the outside classroom lost to arson earlier in the year, and will be the base for the Trust’s youth employability programme, along with other work aiming to benefit the local community. This will include teaching more school-aged children about the history and nature of the canals, and recruiting more volunteers.
The campaign runs until Tuesday 13th September, and offers perks for individuals and organisations who donate, including an employee team day, a signed Finn Russell rugby shirt, Falkirk Wheel goodybags and a “colour-it-in” postcard designed by illustrator and historian Professor John Hume.
