Rural and island communities will have a chance to have their voices heard in local and national decision-making processes, as a result of Scottish Government funding.
Around £80,000 will help to deliver the next Scottish Rural and Islands Parliament (SRIP) – a grassroots democratic assembly – which will take place in the autumn, Wednesday 1st November – Friday 3rd November, online and in-person at the Nevis Centre, An Aird, Fort William, PH33 6AN.
This year’s free event theme will be “Village Halls and Community Spaces”, with registration opening in August. The SRIP aims to celebrates the diverse voices and unique challenges faced by rural and island communities.
