The Scottish Government has launched two new Funds to support families and adult learning and the third sector to deliver services and activities that focus on prevention and early intervention. The funds are now open for applications.
The Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention Fund and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities Fund (ALEC) have been set up following discussions with national voluntary sector organisations to build opportunities and improve outcomes for children, young people, families, adults and communities.
The new Children, Young People and Families Early Intervention and ALEC Funds will offer 2 types of funding:
- Firstly core funding, which will be offered for three years and will be subject to annual review
- Secondly project funding for 1-3 years depending on the project and again, subject to regular reviews
The overall value of the Fund is subject to the 2015 Spending Review which will confirm budgets for 2016-17.
The funds are open for applications until 30 September 2015 and national voluntary organisations are invited to apply.
