The Community Learning and Development (CLD) Standards Council’s next Rural CLD Practitioner Network will take place on Thursday 11 June 2026, 3pm – 5pm. This event will focus on what the implementation of Scotland’s Community Wealth Building (CWB) Bill means for rural communities, and for CLD practitioners.
As an interactive session, the event aims to demystify the Bill, reflect on the consultation response from CLD Standards Council, connect the Bill to real-world rural practice, and explore how CLD professionals can influence and shape local delivery.
The session will highlight how CWB aligns with core CLD values of empowerment, participation, and community-led change, while creating new opportunities to influence decision-making, strengthen local economies, and amplify community voice. Through discussion, case examples, and action-focused reflection, participants will have the opportunity to identify where their current work already contributes to CWB, and where they can have greater impact.
This session is aimed at CLD practitioners who want to move beyond awareness, and actively shape how CWB works in their communities.
