NHS Forth Valley is currently reviewing the need for Community Development and Health Training, with an online survey. The deadline for responses is next Monday 23rd September.
NHS Forth Valley wants to hear thoughts on whether this would be of interest to those working in the area, and if they would like to be involved in any developments.
The training course would stress the importance of the wider determinants of health and support workers in health, local authority and the third sector to use community development approach and methods as a way of adapting practice to address inequalities in health, including:
- how to create services that people really need and want
- how to work better with others to access untapped resources?
- how to support people to take ownership and lead on addressing health issues in their own communities
- how to help people have easier access to health services and opportunity
