The next Practitioners Forum events will be on Wednesday 6th December and Friday 8th December, 9:30am – 1pm at the Camelon Education Centre, Abercrombie Street, Camelon, FK1 4HA, with registration at 9:10am.
Attendees can select which date they would prefer to attend when booking. The theme of the event is “Neglect: Reflecting on Practice”.
The events are open to experienced practitioners and managers from the wider Children’s Commission who can commit to represent their team and share information following the session.
This will be an interactive session, providing opportunities to reflect on practice when working with children and families affected by neglect, and to identify and share good practice while considering what can be done differently.
There will also be an opportunity to reflect on findings from the Falkirk Child Protection Committee File Reading Exercise, on the improvement actions, and on enabling and managing risk, alongside a focus on Team Around the Child, the Child’s Views and SMART plans.
As a result of this event, attendees will learn:
- to promote use of new guidance on working with resistance
- to further develop knowledge, skills and understanding of the impact of neglect on the lived experience of the child or young person
- to develop an understanding of best practice drawing on the collective experiences of practitioners in the wider Children’s Commission
- to illustrate the importance of relationships in how effective work with families and achieve improved outcomes for children and young people
Places at this event are limited, so booking is essential.
