Police Scotland’s “Our Big Youth Conversation” is open to responses from young people across Scotland, aged 11 – 25 years old, until Sunday 31st March.
“Our Big Youth Conversation” aims to give young people in all of Scotland’s communities to tell Police Scotland about what they think works well in policing, and what needs to be changed. Their ideas will be used to help Police Scotland deliver effective policing and services for young people in local areas, and build safe and well communities for everyone.
Data from these responses will then be compiled into a summary document, which Police Scotland will use to share what they have learned through the consultation process. They will also invite young people to take part in focus groups, workshops or other discussions. A final report will then be produced, which young people will be invited to present to a members of the Police Scotland Executive in Spring 2024.
Young people with Young Scot membership will also have the chance to win one of 10 £20 Love2Shop vouchers when submitting their response – instructions for signing up to Young Scot, if not already a member, are available online (linked for your convenience).
Police Scotland has also produced resources for teachers, youth workers and anyone else who works with young people, to help support their participation.
