The Plugged-In Communities Grant Fund, delivered by Energy Saving Trust, provides funding to help community transport organisations in Scotland transition to zero emission vehicles. The fund supports the replacement of existing community transport vehicles with fully electric alternatives, helping organisations reduce emissions while continuing to deliver transport services.

No match funding is required. Funding covers 100% of eligible costs for a new fully electric vehicle, with grants of up to £75,000 available. Additional funding is available for accessibility adaptations and charging infrastructure, bringing the maximum total award to £95,000.

Funding is available for a range of vehicle types, including electric cars, multipurpose vehicles (MPVs), minibuses, and vans. Accessibility adaptations can also be included to help ensure services remain inclusive and accessible to local communities.

Eligible applicants must be registered community transport organisations or operators in Scotland which provide community transport services. Applicants should have appropriate charging arrangements in place, and be able to provide monitoring information on the use of the funded vehicle.
