Solicitors for Older People Scotland (SOPS) has just launched their new brand and website, Parent Carers Legal Support (PCLS).
PCLS (created to avoid confusion with the services offered to older people) has been designed to create one place where parent carers can visit for help and information on the legal work required for the transition to adulthood and Guardianship.
The process of Guardianship can appear to be a daunting experience for some parents, and PCLS has consulted with professionals working closely with parent carers in creating the website, identifying what was most needed by those going through the process. They have worked to create a jargon-free and simple website which aims to be useful for both parent carers and those professionals working with them.
PCLS also offers the free online information sessions delivered previously by SOPS, which are specifically designed to help navigate parents through the process of Guardianship for when their child is reaching or has turned 16 years old, and include information on forward planning for parent carers regarding areas such as Wills and estate planning.
For further information, please visit the PCLS website, or their new Facebook page.
