“One Digital” Training Programme for Falkirk

Posted on February 18, 2016

One Digital is a training programme which aims to develop the Basic Digital Skills of third sector organisations.

SCVO has created the One Digital programme in order to increase the Basic Digital Skills of the third sector, and the people, charities and voluntary organisations it supports.  To understand the most effective way of doing this, SCVO is delivering One Digital across Scotland.

SCVO and CVS Falkirk are working together to bring this programme to the third sector in Falkirk, and are looking for 10 organisations, with two representatives from each organisation to participate in each session.

One Digital consists of two different training sessions:

Making Digital Work.

This session is designed to help 10 local Falkirk organisations change the way they use digital skills.  Organisations will participate in face-to-face and online training, which aims to improve the Basic Digital Skills of the staff and volunteers in the organisation. These participants will form a network of ‘Digital Champions’ and receive support from One Digital Development Officers to identify areas for improvement and delivering changes in their organisation.

For example, a project manager from a community allotment project might decide to set up a Facebook group, in order to collect and display photos of volunteers’ horticultural achievements.

Making Digital Everyday.

This session will help organisations to support their service users change their behaviour and start using digital skills as part of their day to day lives.  Making Digital Everyday is for staff and volunteers with good digital skills from 10 different Falkirk organisations. These participants will be supported through face-to-face and online training, in order to then pass on their skills to the people they already work with. They will also join the ‘Digital Champion’ network and receive support to help their organisation pass on Basic Digital Skills to their service users.

For example, an employment support worker might decide to routinely support clients setting up a profile on professional networking sites such as LinkedIn.

Making Digital Work will be held on Thursday 5th May.

Making Digital Everyday will be held on Friday 6th May.

Both sessions will be held at the CVS Falkirk offices in Callendar Business Park, Falkirk.

For help on deciding which session best suits your organisation and to book your place, please contact Laura Jamieson on 01324 692000, or email laura@cvsfalkirk.org.uk.
