The National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCOS) has announced its Falkirk regional choirs are open to new members, meeting every Tuesday in St Mungo’s High School, Merchiston Avenue, Falkirk FK2 7JT.
NYCOS is dedicated to encouraging singing for young people in Scotland, and provides opportunities for young people, teachers and choir directors to support and develop choral singing across Scotland. The Junior Choir (open to children in Primary 4– Primary 7) meets at 6pm, while the Intermediate Choir (for S1 aged young people) meets at 7pm. NYCOS’ programme aims to help young people develop aural skills, rhythm, sight-reading, musical understanding, and build their confidence. Annual membership fees are £237 for Junior Choir, and £260 for Intermediate Choir; free trials and funded places are available.
