Reach has launched 3 new animated films to help pupils across Scotland feel more informed about their rights at school.
Reach is part of Enquire, the Scottish advice service for additional support for learning; funded by Scottish Government, Reach is their service for young people.
The films were commissioned due to recent changes in the law, which have extended children’s rights in Scotland. Children aged 12 years and over now have more rights around their input in decisions made at school, about the support they need to get the most out of their education.
The films aim to help pupils in Scotland feel more informed about their rights and more confident about having their say. Young people were involved in making the films, which echo the feelings of many pupils having a hard time at school who aren’t sure how to talk about what they are going through.
