The Santander Foundation has changed its name to the Discovery Foundation, in order to reflect the importance of Santander UK’s new flagship community programme, the Discovery Project.
The Discovery Foundation will provide grants for local projects which give disadvantaged people the confidence to discover and create new opportunities. Grants are made every month.
The Foundation’s previous three grants schemes have been combined into a single new scheme: Discovery Grants. This aims to make applying for funding from the Foundation simpler.
Discovery Grants of up to £5,000 are available to UK registered charities, community interest companies, and credit unions, in order to fund local projects helping disadvantaged people. Funding is available to cover part-time salaries, equipment or materials. However, the funding is only for one year, and must deliver a local project, not a national initiative.
Applicants should complete a Discovery Grant nomination form, which is available from all Santander branches, and submit their application in the branch.
