The Naturesave Trust funding is now available for community renewable energy projects.
The Trust aims to provide financial assistance to community projects dealing with environmental issues or sustainability development, particularly those which do not have the initial start-up capital required.
They are also keen for the community to retain as much control as possible over the operating income once the project has been successful.
The Trust was established in 1995 in order to fund specific environmental and conservation project throughout the UK. It receives its funding from the premiums generated by its parent body, Naturesave Insurance, as part of the company’s environmental commitment.
Recently funded projects by the Trust include Pilling St John’s Primary School, which received funding towards the installation of a wind turbine at the school, providing energy and income to the school, and the installation of National Star College’s Biomass boiler system.
Applications for project funding to the Trust can be made at any time.
