NHS Forth Valley staff and the Health Improvement service are supporting National Smile Month, taking place between 13 May-13 June 2024. This is a charity campaign all about championing the benefits of having good oral health and promoting the value of a healthy smile.
They are asking individuals to join in and make a positive difference to the oral health of millions of people. By supporting National Smile Month, you will be able to help them reach groups where oral disease is far too common.
During National Smile Month, they are promoting four key messages for better oral health:
- Brush teeth for two minutes, last thing at night and one other time during the day, with a fluoride toothpaste.
- Clean between your teeth with interdental brushes or floss, and use mouthwash every day.
- Cut down how much and how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
- Visit a dentist regularly.
Help them raise awareness of the importance of looking after your teeth and mouth for your overall health and well-being, by sharing the campaign information with your local community.
