The MoonWalk Scotland 2016 will take place from Holyrood Park, Edinburgh on Saturday 11th June and Sunday 12th June. It provides an opportunity for individuals to gain experience at a mass participation event, as well as contributing by supporting thousands of women and men raising millions for vital breast cancer causes.
There are three shifts available over the course of the event:
- Shift 1 (roughly 6pm to midnight): These are all on site roles, helping the walkers prepare for their big challenge ahead. Possible roles include being on the Directional Team, Baggage Team, Tattoos & Balloons and Clean and Recycle Team.
- Shift 2 (roughly from 8pm on the Saturday night through to 6am on the Sunday morning): The three main roles during this are Route Marshals, Baggage Team and the all-important Finish Line.
- Shift 3 (roughly from 6am through to midday on the Sunday morning): Providing relief and support to those finishing Shift 2.
Volunteer packs will be sent out by post before the event with information on the specific roles. At the event volunteers can also pick up their volunteer t-shirts and caps, which are available to keep.
