Outside The Box, as part of their Money Owls project, are looking volunteers over the age of 50 to chat to people about money matters. The opportunity doesn’t involve giving advice, it’s about letting people know what’s out there and which organisations can help.
Money Owls is a peer support project, aiming to bring together people over 50 who can chat to their peers about money at regular pop-up events throughout Falkirk.
A Money Owl volunteer is a diverse role, and volunteers will not be expected to know it all. You will not be providing any advice, only telling people about relevant organisations, sharing what works for other people and giving out leaflets.
The main aim will be giving people the confidence to deal with their financial affairs. Volunteers will be trained by Grangemouth Citizens Advice Bureau, to give you the confidence to talk to people about money and a broad understanding of what money issues people can have.
