The Scottish Government are seeking views on proposals relating to the implementation of certain sections of the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 2015 and associated regulations. As a result, they have launched a public online consultation.
The Act makes amendments to the operation of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and to the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995, in relation to the treatment of offenders with mental health issues. It also creates a new victim information and representation scheme for victims of some offenders with mental health issues.
This online consultation primarily aims to gather views from people in Scotland on the proposals for relevant secondary legislation, transitional and savings provisions and associated work, to implement the 2015 Act.
The closing date for responses is Monday 17th October.
