Make It Happen is the older people’s (over 50s) forum for Falkirk and District. They give older people the opportunity to hear what is happening locally and nationally on issues that relate to older people, and provide the opportunity for them to have their voices heard.
They are looking for a Community Connector volunteer who will help organise the Bonnybridge meeting and provide a friendly welcome to those attending, including helping serve tea and coffee. The Bonnybridge group meet on the first Monday of the month, 10am – 1pm.
The volunteer will help hand out information and listen to any collective issues and concerns older people have, and relay these back to the committee. The volunteers would also assist in distributing the MIH newsletter in their neighbourhood, including to libraries, supermarkets, and so on.
The volunteer will contribute to a Signposting Directory for the local area and help to collate information about local groups, which means gathering as much information as possible about groups and activities for over 50s in the local area (including Bonnybridge, Denny, Banknock). Volunteers will suggest ways to make the Directory attractive and enjoyable to read, and – where possible – provide photographs.
This opportunity is open to those aged 50 and over.
