Falkirk Council has drafted a new Local Housing Strategy (LHS), and has launched their second-stage online LHS consultation to gather people’s thoughts.
The LHS has been formed by the feedback from previous consultations on the LHs, and by Scottish Government guidance. The new draft outlines a collaborative approach with Falkirk Council and stakeholders to address housing challenges and opportunities in the area, and places a strong emphasis on providing housing choices for all residents.
The LHS draft covers specific priorities which Falkirk Council believe will make a positive impact on housing in Falkirk District:
- increase housing supply
- create sustainable communities
- improve access to housing, tackling homelessness
- support vulnerable groups with housing
- address climate change, fuel poverty, and energy efficiency
- enhance housing conditions
- promote a sustainable private rented sector
To participate:
- access the online consultation via Falkirk Council’s survey platform (linked for your convenience)
- review the proposed draft local housing strategy and priorities (with the Full Draft Version, a summary and previous consultation feedback available)
- share feedback and suggestions by completing the survey questions
The deadline for responses is Friday 4th August.
